God’s Armor-bearer Volumes 1 & 2: Serving God’s Leaders

In my review of “God’s Armor-bearer Volumes 1 & 2: Serving God’s Leaders” by Terry Nance, I found that he reveals practical ways in which one is to serve as an armor-bearer, offering insight that only experience in ministry can provide. This two-volume set, written from the perspective of an armor-bearer, teaches people how they ought to serve the pastorate. Clearly, there is a need for the information provided in this book, as it has been a number-one seller.

This book offers a unique and in-depth look at the vital role of an armor-bearer within the church. Nance, drawing from his extensive experience in ministry, provides readers with a comprehensive guide on how to effectively support and serve church leaders. His practical approach is both accessible and deeply insightful, making it a valuable resource for anyone involved in church ministry. The book is not just theoretical; it is filled with real-world applications that can be immediately implemented in one’s church community.

One of the standout features of this book is Nance’s ability to convey the heart of an armor-bearer. He emphasizes the importance of loyalty, humility, and a servant’s heart, traits that are essential for those who wish to support their leaders effectively. Through personal anecdotes and scriptural references, Nance illustrates how these qualities can be cultivated and expressed in daily ministry. His writing is both encouraging and challenging, pushing readers to grow in their roles while providing the support needed to do so.

The structure of the book, divided into two volumes, allows for a thorough exploration of the topic. The first volume lays the foundational principles of being an armor-bearer, while the second volume delves deeper into practical applications and strategies. This format ensures that readers not only understand the theory behind the role but also how to live it out in practical, tangible ways. Nance’s step-by-step guidance is clear and actionable, making it easy for readers to apply what they have learned.

Moreover, “God’s Armor-bearer Volumes 1 & 2” addresses the often-overlooked aspects of serving in ministry. Nance sheds light on the challenges and rewards of being an armor-bearer, providing a balanced perspective that is both honest and hopeful. He acknowledges the difficulties that can arise in such a role but also highlights the immense satisfaction and spiritual growth that come from serving faithfully. This balanced approach makes the book relatable and realistic, offering readers a well-rounded understanding of what it means to be an armor-bearer.

In addition to its practical advice, the book is also deeply inspirational. Nance’s passion for ministry and his genuine love for church leaders shine through every page. His enthusiasm is contagious, inspiring readers to embrace their roles with renewed vigor and commitment. The book serves as a reminder of the important role that armor-bearers play in the health and success of a church, and it encourages readers to take their responsibilities seriously.

Overall, this book is an essential read for anyone involved in church ministry. Its practical wisdom, coupled with its heartfelt encouragement, makes it a valuable resource for those seeking to support their leaders effectively. Nance’s experience and insight provide readers with a clear roadmap for becoming effective armor-bearers, making this book a must-have for church communities everywhere.

Having said that, however, I would NOT recommend the Audio version of this book, as the narrator sounds . . . like . . William . . . . Shatter from Star . . . . Trek . . . pausing . . . with incredibly annoying . . . inflection in his . . . voice. The content, however, was very good, . . . good enough that I purchased the Kindle version after having listened to the entire book.
